
Sunti and Elements inaugurate the Camélas photovoltaic park: Cooperation and commitment to the ecological transition

On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Sunti and Elements inaugurated Camélas photovoltaic park in the presence of Mr. Bort, Mayor of Camélas, Mr. Bassaget, Sub-Prefect of Pyrénées-Orientales, Mr. Cichostepski, Co-founder and Chairman of Elements, Gilles Leandro, Managing Director Operations of the Soper Group and Jean-Michel Germa, Chairman of the Soper Group and Sunti.
The Camélas photovoltaic project, located in the Pyrénées Orientales department, is operated by Suntia subsidiary of Soper Groupand whose construction assistance has been entrusted to Elements.
Commissioning on July 5, 2023, Camélas power plant, is made up of 16500 m² of photovoltaic modules installed on photovoltaic shades housing a storage and warehousing area for skips, farm equipment and trucks for Auber Transport. A double benefit: production of green electricity and improved operating conditions for the site. of 3.5 hectares.
The plant consists of 6,500 bifacial photovoltaic panelsfor a total installed capacity of 3.5 MWp. Annual production is estimated at 4.8 GWh/yearequivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of around 1,000 householdsmaking the commune of Camélas energy self-sufficient (459 inhabitants in 2020). 100% of production is fed into the grid and consumed locally. This solar production will avoid the emission of 268 tonnes of CO2 per year.
A cooperative project, built in collaboration with local companies, and in line with the environmental approach of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole and the Occitanie Region, which aim to become positive-energy territories by 2050.
