\nAs policies to combat climate change are stepped up, the ability of solar thermal energy to replace fossil fuels is giving it a new lease of life in several major markets, including France, with installed capacity on the rise again in 2018!<\/p>\n
With installed capacity up by 179%, Poland is home to the world's most dynamic solar heat market, followed by Denmark (+128%), India (+9%) and Cyprus (+7%). These countries once again demonstrate the competitiveness and attractiveness of these technologies, whether for domestic, commercial or industrial use.<\/p>\n
In fact, solar thermal energy continues to make significant progress in the industrial sector, with nearly 567 MWth or 662,000 m\u00b2 installed worldwide. Whether in China, Mexico, India or France, a growing number of manufacturers are integrating this renewable energy into their energy mix, with the aim of reducing the cost of their industrial utilities and improving the carbon footprint of their production.<\/p>\n
Numerous projects of over 1 MWth to supply heat to industrial processes or district heating networks are still in the development phase, facilitated by proactive public policies, cost optimization of solar thermal power plants and the emergence of innovative commercial solutions such as third-party investment.<\/p>\n
